The Healthcare Assistant would be providing care for clients in their own homes). Support from our Clinical Governance Team and local office support in Clonmel and Kilkenny. Attractive salary and employee benefits offered Role of Care Assistant: The Healthcare assistant’s primary role is to deliver personal care and assistance to a client in his/her own home. Healthcare assistants are responsible for the implementation of the requirements of the clients care plan, perform identified care duties and promote client comfort, dignity and wellbeing. Your responsibilities will include . . . Assist the client with Activities of Living Pay due care and attention to all aspects of care duties carried out on behalf of the client Provide a high standard of care in compliance with Bluebird Care Policies Qualifications & Experience: Healthcare assistants must have obtained the QQI approved Level 5 Modules Care of the Older Person and Care Skills/Healthcare Support. Or have a minimum of one-year experience caring for others and be in a position to undertake the two modules outlined above. Qualities: Essential qualities of a Healthcare assistant include having a genuine concern for others, having the ability to demonstrate kindness, compassion and patience. Your role is essential in supporting both our staff and our clients. Here’s what you’ll be responsible for: Service Coordination & Scheduling Efficiently manage and coordinate Care Assistant schedules to ensure customers receive high-quality care and support at the right time. Monitor rosters to ensure optimal coverage, balancing the needs of clients with the work-life balance of Care Assistants. Adjust and update rotas as needed to provide cover for emergencies, last-minute changes, or Care Assistant absences due to sickness, holidays, or other unforeseen events. Schedule Care Assistants based on the specific needs of each client, ensuring the right skills, experience, and availability are matched with client preferences and care requirements. Workforce Management & Support Respond to any urgent staffing issues that arise, providing prompt solutions and ensuring seamless service continuity. Arrange cover for Care Assistant sickness, absenteeism, or holidays, ensuring minimal disruption to client care. Communicate changes or updates to rotas with Care Assistants, ensuring they are well informed and prepared for their shifts. On-Call Support & Incident Management Act as the first point of contact for any weekend issues, providing timely support, troubleshooting, and guidance. Take control of urgent requests from clients or employees, ensuring a rapid response and smooth service continuation. Maintain a calm, focused approach while managing multiple, high-pressure requests, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions. Operational Reporting & Record Keeping Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all service activities, including changes to care plans, emergency incidents, and client feedback. Record and report any accidents, incidents, or near-misses, ensuring proper follow-up and escalation where necessary. Prepare reports for the Registered Manager, highlighting key activities, issues, and operational performance. Ensure confidentiality of client and staff information in accordance with data protection policies and procedures. Client Support & Service Delivery Provide clear, effective communication with clients, their families, and external health and social care professionals to ensure continuity of care. Monitor customer satisfaction by addressing complaints or concerns swiftly, identifying ways to enhance service quality and improve the customer experience. Teamwork & Collaboration Work closely with the wider team, fostering a collaborative environment to ensure smooth service delivery. Attend training and handover sessions in-office every two weeks (2-3 hours), sharing knowledge and improving service coordination.
